DonateOnly an individual who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada may make a political contribution. No corporate donations are permitted.
Contribution Limits for Individuals
(as of Jan. 1, 2007)
- no more than $1100.00 in total in any calendar year to a particular registered party.
- no more than $1100.00 in total in any calendar year to various entites of each registered political party (registered associations, nominations contestants and candidates ).
- no more than $1100.00 in total to the contestants in a particular leadership contest.
- no more than $1100.00 in total to a candidate for a particular election who does not represent a registered political party. It is prohibited for an individual to make a cash contribution in an amount that exceeds $20.00
